Department of Western Languages
Department of Western Languages (hereinafter referred to as “the Department”) was established in September, 1999.
Goals and tasks of the Department:
To teach foreign languages to students and graduate students and educate them to use foreign languages effectively.
To contribute to the work of educating them in international spirit and to love the Motherland.
Activity and Researches of the Department:
Teachers of the Department teach English, French, German and Russian languages in all faculties of the University.
Key matter of the Department is the majority of scientific books in these languages related to Islamic and Religious Studies, to contribute to the meeting process among countries and to increase effectiveness of scientific-spiritual exchange.
Following scientific-methodological works prepared by the members of the Department were published. They are the English-Uzbek Dictionary, «English for Beginners», «Our Ancestors». Also, «English for Lucky Learners» textbook, some educational-methodological textbooks on specializations as Religious Studies, Islamic Law, Economics, Information Technology and grammar are being made up and they will be published in foreign languages.
In the process of teaching, state-of-the-art technologies and interactive ways are widely used.
Members of the Department whose majority consists of young professionals are improving their scientific-methodological skills continuously. They constantly participate in the republican, international and university level conferences and scientific-practical seminars.
Senior teacher D.Muhitdinova is carrying out her research on the title "The investigation of Imam Buhkhari's "Al-Jami as-Sakhikh" in Europe". U. Khafizova, a Russian teacher, is conducting her scientific research on “Characteristics of Translation in Translating into Russian”.
The teachers of the Department conduct open lessons in English, German, French and Russian and take an active part in spiritual-enlightenment and other arrangements.
Organizing of the festive arrangements in foreign languages involving students in connection with national holidays of the countries languages as well as Independence Day and «Navroz» holidays has become a happy traditions.
